Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
QuickSay is a voice-to-text tool that runs on your computer. We built it with a simple principle: your data is yours. This policy explains exactly what happens with your information when you use QuickSay.
1. What QuickSay Collects
Audio recordings
When you dictate, QuickSay temporarily records your voice and sends the audio to Groq's servers for transcription via the Whisper API. The audio is processed in real-time and is not stored by QuickSay after transcription completes.
Custom dictionary entries
Any custom words or phrases you add to your dictionary are stored locally on your machine. They never leave your computer.
Dictation history
Your dictation history is stored locally on your machine. It is never transmitted to any server.
What about personal information?
QuickSay does not collect personal information during purchase. All payment processing is handled by our payment processor (see below). We never see your credit card number or billing details.
2. Third-Party Services
Groq API
QuickSay sends your audio to Groq for Whisper transcription and LLaMA text cleanup. Groq processes the audio and returns the transcribed text. You can review Groq's privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
If you use your own API key (BYOK), you interact with Groq directly under Groq's terms. See the BYOK section below.
Payment processor
Payments are handled by LemonSqueezy. They process all payment data on our behalf. QuickSay never sees or stores your credit card information. You can review LemonSqueezy's privacy policy for details.
Plausible Analytics (website only)
This website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool. It collects no personal data and uses no cookies. The QuickSay desktop app does not include any analytics or telemetry.
3. What QuickSay Does NOT Do
To be absolutely clear:
- ✕ QuickSay does not capture your screen. No screenshots. No screen content. Ever.
- ✕ QuickSay does not record which applications you use.
- ✕ QuickSay does not store your dictated text on any server.
- ✕ QuickSay does not sell or share your data with third parties.
- ✕ QuickSay does not use cookies for tracking. This website uses cookieless analytics.
4. Data Retention
Audio is processed in real-time and discarded immediately after transcription. QuickSay does not maintain server-side logs of your dictation content. Your local dictation history and custom dictionary remain on your machine until you choose to delete them.
5. BYOK Users
If you bring your own Groq API key, your audio is sent directly to Groq under your own account. In this case, Groq's data handling is governed entirely by your direct agreement with them. QuickSay acts only as the interface — we never see or store your API key on our servers.
6. Contact

7. Updates to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify users through the application or on this website. We are committed to keeping this policy straightforward and honest.
